Meditation and other practices of spiritual/mental development are seeing a resurgence in the current culture that is raising some interesting questions and challenges.
For one, is this practice valid? In the sense that it generates positive results, the answer is overwhelmingly yes. Numerous studies cite the benefit of meditation, deep breathing exercises and other types of psychosomatic integration as producing great benefits in terms of performance. However, the challenge that this in turn raises is that we do not have a full explanation yet as to how this works. This is what we will explore here. I will do this by charting my experience with this type of practice and by going into varied analysis of my experiences. We will not limit ourselves to spirituality. I want to understand the science behind it. Granted science, as is stands, may not be too interested in exploring this. However, it is a subject that lends it self to rational inquiry.
Thus, exploration of the psychological, biological and physical dimensions of meditation will be examined. All comments and contributions are welcomed and encouraged. Let the discussion begin.
